An interesting Elemental attacker who shares some similar qualities as Latio; notably in that her Skill has the ability to hit the enemy's elemental weakness no matter the color. As such, she's useful against pretty much any enemy. However, it's hard not to draw comparisons to Latio, as she was the first card to have such a Skill.

Ran does 2x Elemental attacks (@1.0x), but with no additional effects. (As compared with Latio's 1x Elemental attack (@1.5x) with her Damage UP debuff.) This matches her with several cards that have similar attacks. But Ran's biggest advantage over other Elemental attackers is her sheer versatility.

Sub-wise, Ran basically has the Fire version of Lise and Rouge's Sub Skills, granting a 20% Skill Boost on Straight+ to any Fire card. This gives her a good amount of flexibility since you can slap on any Red card and you're good.

Stat-wise, Ran's got good HP & Defense, but kinda middling Attack. However, she does have great versatility, which can definitely come in handy, especially for Special Dungeons in which you might be lacking the right Attackers.

As noted above, Ran's Skill is a 2x Strong Elemental attack that hits the enemy's Elemental weakness. This makes her quite effective as a universal attacker, though obviously she falls a little short compared to some other Elemental attackers with the trade-off being that she can hit anyone equally. That said, she's quite potent when it comes to dealing with multiple enemies with varying elemental weaknesses.

The first 32 Cost Card to get an Awakening, Ran gets some very nice improvements to her Skill. As before, she still retains her 2x Strong Elemental attack but she now gains the ability to break Shields, putting her on par with Otohime. But if that wasn't enough, she also gained the ability to wipe Enemy Buffs if she attacks a target with a Positive Stat Total. This makes her a powerful Card that can counter Shields and Buffs! Couple all of that with her 4 Orb Slots and Ran is significantly better than before. One only wonders if this is a taste of what's to come with other Cards?

Sub Skill

Pretty much a general 20% Skill Boost to any Fire card on a Straight+.
This makes Ran pretty flexible as she can be used on any Fire card. Quite good for Support cards.


Awakening improves on this by removing the Straight+ requirement and increasing the base Skill Boost to 30%!
But if that wasn't enough, every 2 Turns, you get an extra +1% Skill Boost. This maxes after 10 Turns for a max 35% Skill Boost!
As such, Ran is pretty great for any Red Card you have in your deck.
