For being one of the more bizarrely rare Heal Cards, Phoenix isn't exactly a major performer. He's a pretty selfish Red Heal card, Healing only your HP and later on at SL6+, he also gives an ATK Buff. That said, he's also one of the older Heal cards as well, long before AoE Heal Cards were the norm, meaning you'd have to use AoE or Multiply Enhancers to get the most out of him. These days, he's completely outdated and outclassed by almost any other Heal card in the Gacha.

Awakening improves on Phoenix somewhat...as before, the Self-Heal and ATK Buff remain and grow stronger as you lose HP, but now Phoenix gets a few quirks to his Skill. First off, there's an Ally Heal tacked on, making him pseudo-AoE. However, this starts off rather weak at 15% which leads into the second gimmick where Phoenix's Skill grows stronger every time it's used. You won't see any noticeable increases until it's almost maxed out. (It maxes out at 3 uses.) Phoenix is a fair bit better than he was before, but still lacks a lot compared to more recent Heal Cards present in the Gacha.

- Heals & ATK Buff scale per ally.
Phoenix awakens even further to become a powerful AoE Healer that Heals the Party's HP and Buffs their ATK as well. Right off the bat, Phoenix has very strong Heals and they get even better as an ally's HP falls. The ATK Buff is a pretty nice bonus as well, and it too grows stronger the lower on HP an ally gets.
Phoenix grants a powerful 35% Skill Boost to any Heal Skill...with the catch that you have to be below 15% HP for it to even work.
As such, Phoenix isn't really a good sub since you'll have to be almost dead for it to even activate.
You're far better off with more stable Subs that can actually work consistently.
Awakening improves on Phoenix by giving him an unconditional 20% Skill Boost to any Heal Card. On top of that, it grows stronger as you lose more HP, all the way up to 35% if you get below 15% HP. It's pretty average compared to some other Support subs, but it's pretty usable now compared from before.
Further Awakening greatly improves Phoenix's Sub by increasing the base to 25% and even clearing Status Effects on top of that! If that wasn't enough, it still gets even stronger the lower on HP you are. As such, Phoenix is an amazing Sub for any Heal Card that doesn't have built-in Status Clearing.
Just to note, Phoenix's Awakening Skill doesn't make you immune to Paralysis, but rather, just makes Phoenix's card unaffected by the effects of Paralysis.
Can be handy since it can allow you to freely play Phoenix while under Paralysis.
In Greek mythology, a [Phoenix] is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn.
Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.
