An extremely powerful Debuffer, Norn is a support powerhouse in both PvP and PvE environments.
Norn only has one job and does it terrifyingly well. Namely, to bring down her foes' Attack and Agility greatly.
While Norn has been around for a while, she really came to prominence with her GOD evolution where she gained the ability to debuff targets' ATK and AGI greatly (as well as AoE on Straight+). Awakening has only made Norn even stronger, making her debuff inherently AoE now. However, Norn does have a nasty weakness; the accuracy on her debuff is tied to her target's HP. The less HP a target has, the more likely the debuff will miss. As such, Norn is most effective at the start of a fight, but becomes increasingly worse as the fight drags on and the enemy loses HP.
Sub-wise, Norn's really iffy (if not impractical). She requires that you have an A card as your main, then fall below 25% HP with a chance(!) to heavily reduce damage. Frankly, compared to most other damage reduction subs, Norn isn't good...at all. Luckily, Awakening gives Norn a significantly better Sub Skill. She still requires the A card, but now offers a 15-20% Skill Boost and 5-20% Damage Reduction. Much better than before.
Overall, if you can get past Norn's weaknesses, she's a powerful card to have.
- Skill Lv1-5: Chance to decrease the target's ATK (Accuracy increases as the target's HP is higher)
- Skill Lv6+: Chance to decrease the target's ATK/AGI; On Straight+, chance to decrease all targets' ATK/AGI with increased Debuff Power (Accuracy increases as the target's HP is higher)
|Target's HP = 100%||60%||65%||70%||75%||80%||85%||90%|
|Target's HP = 50%||30%||32.5%||35%||37.5%||40%||42.5%||45%|
- Debuff Accuracy increases at the target's HP is higher.
- For example, at SL7, the Accuracy rating on Norn's skill is 90% of the enemy's current HP (eg: With an enemy at 80% HP, Norn's rate of success will be 72%)
|ATK/AGI Debuff (Straight+)||2.80|
|Accuracy (Target's HP = 100%)||90%|
|Accuracy (Target's HP = 50%)||45%|
- Debuff Accuracy increases at the target's HP is higher. (This acts the same prior to Awakening.)
Norn's Debuff now affects all targets by default, but still acts similarly to before. And of course, getting a Straight+ only increases the Debuff effect.
Norn's Sub Skill is pretty sub-standard to say the least. Requiring an A card as well as being below 25% HP (not a good place to be!), the requirements are very stringent and dangerous to be in.
There's much better Ace subs you could use to prevent yourself from taking damage.
Norn's Awakened Sub Skill improves considerably on the original. While it still requires an Ace card, it offers a much more luxurious 15-20% Skill Boost and 5-20% Damage Reduction.
Norn's Awakening Skill grants you +1 AGI at the start of battle. Minor, but a bit handy nonetheless.
