Buffalo's gimmick is a pretty simple one: Just a single Hit attack that grows more powerful the stronger or weaker your Stat Total is. Prior to SL6, Buffalo is a simple 1x Hit attack. After that, his Skill Power increases depending on if your Stat Total is Negative or Positive. With Awakening, not a lot changes for Buffalo; his Skill still works similarly but has an extra gimmick of not having his attack miss if the enemy is below 70% HP.
Unfortunately, all of this still puts Buffalo a good ways behind most other Red Hit cards either because they offer more attacks or have better stats/gimmicks allowing for more damage. All in all, he's just simply an average Red Hit card and especially so when compared with the likes of King Enma, Satan, Mary, and Chelsea.
A bit of an iffy Sub Skill. Limited to the Ace card and requiring 100% HP, it'll grant 20% Damage Reduction against incoming attacks.
Because of its requirements though, it's only really effective so long as you have 100% HP. Below that, the effect is useless.
Awakening improves on this a bit by giving you a passive 10% Damage Reduction if your HP falls below 100%, making Buffalo's Sub a fair bit better than before.
That said, the same thing mentioned above applies: Better and more reliable Damage Reduction Subs do exist.
