On first glance, Maetel is much like Lovers in that they both clear Status Effects and grant additional effects when they do so on a target. Unlike Lovers though, Maetel won't grant additional Healing, so you'll want to load her up on Skill Boosts or put the Mirror on her.
And since Maetel's Status Clearing is built-in, you don't have to worry about having to use Status Clearing Subs. As such, she's quite effective against foes who love to inflict Status Effects. However, it's worth noting that Maetel's Status Clear is much like that of Arcadia's in that it activates BEFORE the Heal, making it one of the few cards truly effective against Zombify.
A pretty interesting Sub Skill, Maetel grants +1 AGI on Skill Activation to any card with a Heal or Buff Skill.
But for every +1 AGI, you get a 7% Skill Boost; at +5 AGI, that's a 35% Skill Boost!
As such, Maetel has the potential to be an incredibly strong Sub for any Heal or Buff card.
However, she wavers a bit against Debuff-heavy bosses, so be wary.
