A Moonlit Night's Hyakki Yagyō
Something of a rarity these days, Kidomaru bursts onto the scene as a powerful Red Shield card. While other cards have had Counter Shields before, using them in full was rather tricky due to them affecting few targets or having poor accuracy. (In that sense, Kidomaru's a much better version of Emily.)
Kidomaru's Main Skill is basically a 2-in-1 Damage Reduction + Counter Shield, offering 3 ticks of good Damage Reduction and a powerful Counterattack to boot. On top of that, Kidomaru also grants +1 ATK to the Party and can grant an additional ATK boost for every other Youkai card in the played hand. All of that makes Kidomaru a fairly good Shield card alone, but his real strength lies in his Counter. Even by itself, it can deal decent damage to foes that like to perform AoE attacks. Fortunately, Kidomaru's Counter can be powered up by Enhance cards, making it exceptionally strong and capable of impressive damage.
Sub-wise, Kidomaru offers 2-in-1 ATK buff and Skill Boost for any Red card. But for every ATK buff, you gain an additional 4% Skill Boost up to a max of 20%. But given Kidomaru's cost and the fact you need to get ATK buffs to reach the full effect, it makes Kidomaru a less than ideal sub. Stat-wise, Kidomaru's somewhat balanced, with excellent HP, decent Attack and Defense.
- ATK Buff is static at +1.
- Every Yokai card in the played hand increases the ATK buff by 1, including Kidomaru.
Somewhat similar to Vesty's Sub Skill. If the Main Card is Red, grants +1 ATK
But for every ATK buff, you gain an additional 4% Skill Boost up to a max of 20%.
