- Each attack has a 50% Chance to Hit. (On average, only expect about 2-3 attacks to hit without AGI buffs.)
- Damage Reduction is added to the Shield at at low HP% (40% HP @ SL7, 20% HP @ SL6 and lower)
- Each attack has 50% Accuracy

Long considered a terrible card upon his introduction, Kay has only gotten marginally better over time. Awakening attempts to breathe new life into him only to somewhat succeed. Kay gets a decent Stat Boost and some minor changes to his Main Skill. Like numerous other 6x attackers, Kay's main issue is his Accuracy. While this can be mitigated with AGI Buffs and Accuracy Orbs, it only does so much. Thankfully, with the introduction of Xiao as a Sub, Kay's Accuracy issues are no longer a problem.
His Counter shield now becomes a Strong Counter + Damage Reduction Shield, making it marginally more useful (though be wary of overwriting a potentially more useful Shield). Kay also got 4 Orb Slots to play with meaning you can increase his Attack to well over over 1900 or fit him with Accuracy Orbs. As such, Kay is stronger than before, but probably not worth using without having Xiao subbed, as you're gambling otherwise with his attacks.
It's pretty bad. You'll have to fall below 40% HP to see any real benefit and that's not even counting the fact that you need Kay subbed on your A card.
Awakening makes it a bit better than before, giving you a 20% Skill Boost by default, and then increasing the Skill Boost to 30% and giving you 70% Status Avoidance once you fall below 40% HP. However, this also takes away from your valuable Damage Reduction Subs, making you more vulnerable to damage. As such, Kay's not really worth Subbing.
In Arthurian legend, Sir Kay is Sir Ector's son and King Arthur's foster brother and later seneschal, as well as one of the first Knights of the Round Table. In later literature, he is known for his acid tongue, bullying, and boorish behavior, but in earlier accounts he was one of Arthur's premier warriors.
