The Ninja Arts! Swift as the Wind!
A valuable card in many ways, Karin is a high-value claw attacker with a semi-useful status effect- and in green, of all things, despite her high attack stat. A common card to see especially in colosseum (where her high damage allows her to do a lot of damage while spreading a painful status effect), Karin has been a mainstay of many decks' Wood element pools for quite some time.
On top of her attack stat, good claw attacks are fairly rare (with the best two, Leviathan and Nana, having only been implemented recently as of this writing) and unlike Nana, Karin's only fusion is with herself and other cards that are, gently put, awful. This gives her a a very low error rate due to super fusion unlike some desirable attackers. The only thing that might make her less than desirable is that her actual sub skill is not very useful at all. If you do not intend to play Karin, you probably won't want her.
The only concern when playing Karin is that her artwork upon reaching GOD evolution status is considered one of the most hideous in the game.
Awakening gives Karin quite the stat boost, boasting an extremely powerful 1896 Attack as well as a bunch of HP to boot. Her Defense is still quite low, only a fair improvement from before. Curiously, Karin loses the ability to inflict Petrify and instead gains the ability to imbue her attacks with the element the enemy is weakest to (at a low 20% chance per attack). Her sub gets a noticeable improvement as well, trading in the Damage Boost for a much better Skill Boost. As a result, Karin rises to one of the strongest Green Claw cards around.
And finally, her Awakening artwork is an improvement over the hideous GOD art she had previously.
Having one of the highest attack stats in the game makes Karin an especially proficient 3-attack user, and while Petrify isn't the most debilitating status in PVP, it does cause a hinderance for a fair number of people (and it sets up for a killer combo with Mary if you have or know anybody with her). Otherwise, you don't have to worry about the secondary effect in any capacity and can treat her as a big numbers card.

- 20% Chance per attack to imbue attack with the Element the target is weakest to. (Elem Mod is 1.75x)
In a rather interesting move, Karin dumps her chance to Petrify for a 20% chance to imbue her attacks with the Element her target is weakest to while also gaining the 3-5x attacks that has become quite popular lately. In most ways, this makes her a much more efficient damage dealer, as Petrify is kind of a useless Status Effect (95%+ of Event Bosses are immune to it, it's unfavorable in Colosseum due to the Defense boost, and so forth). Of course, the 20% chance is pretty low most things considered, but when it activates, Karin will do some nice damage.
A quirky Sub Skill, Karin by default just grants a 15% Damage Boost. But should you or your target become Paralyzed or Petrified, the boost increases to 30% instead. It's not a bad sub per se, given you sub it in the right situations. However, Skill Boosts are generally more preferred as opposed to Damage Boosts.
Karin trades in the Damage Boost for a nice Skill Boost instead. By default, Karin's a 25-35% Skill Boost to any Attack Card, making her a pretty good sub already for any Attacker. But like before, should you or your target become Paralyzed or Petrified, the Skill Boost increases to 30-40% instead. As such, Karin makes a pretty great sub for any Attack card, especially if facing foes that can Petrify or Paralyze (or weak/vulnerable to one of the two).
Karin is considered the current top in the running amongst both the Japanese and English communities for worst-looking art at GOD evolution level, beating out previous hideous winners such as Lancelot.
