Divine Flames of Immortality
One of the very few number of Holy cards in the game.
As with the other Holy cards (Clare, Guardian, and Klaus), Johann is good at one thing and only one thing: blasting the hell out of Undead enemies. Beyond that, Johann's not all that great, but he does tend to shine when there are Special Dungeons featuring the Undead.
Skill Lv1-5: 1x Holy attack (more effective against Undead)
Skill Lv6+: 3x Holy attack, chance to deal damage based on percentage of enemy's HP (more effective against Undead)
|DMG (vs Undead)||2.80x||3.00x||3.20x||3.50x||3.80x||2.20x||2.40x|
|HP% Damage (vs Undead)||8%||12%|
- Gravity effect has a 30% chance to activate per attack; increases to 65% if target is Undead.
Johann's Skill prior to SL6 is just a single Holy attack. Against regular enemies, it doesn't really do much, but against Undead, it deals tremendous amounts of damage. Holy skills deal 2x Damage vs Undead targets and Johann's attack multiplier also doubles vs Undead targets, allowing him to deal almost absurd amounts of damage.
At SL6, Johann's Main Skill becomes a 3x Holy attack with a chance to deal additional Gravity damage. Gravity damage can be particularly useful against high HP foes, but it has a significantly higher chance to activate against Undead foes. This allows Johann to inflict even more pain on the Undead, though it's worth noting that the Gravity damage only deals a percentage of the target's current HP. (Thus, it can't inflict a killing blow unless the enemy only has 1 HP left.)
|DMG (vs Undead)||2.40x|
|HP% Damage (vs Undead)||12%|
- Gravity effect has a 40% chance to activate per attack; increases to 80% if target is Undead.
- Grants +1 ATK when target is Undead.
Awakening doesn't change Johann much. He gets a nice Stat Boost and a small boost to his Gravity effect Accuracy as well as +1 ATK if you happen to use him against an Undead target (which you should be doing to begin with). He also gets blessed with 5 Orb Slots, allowing you to pump his Attack up well into the 1800s, really allowing him to bring the pain against the Undead.
Effectively a 20% Damage Boost against Undead-type enemies.
Pretty poor if nothing else due to Undead enemies being fairly uncommon.
Johann is the Germanized form of the originally Hebrew language name "Yohanan" meaning "God is merciful".
