- 100% Chance to apply Sustained Buff effect to Party.
- Sustained Buff effect grants +2 ATK to target at the end of the Turn for 3 Turns.
- When Sustained Buff effect activates, it applies a Damage Reduction Shield to the target if they don't have a Shield active.
- Damage Reduction Shield lasts for the duration of the Turn.
An very interesting Sustain Card, Berith applies his Sustained Buff effect to the Party much like Strength and Okuni. Like Strength, the Sustained Buff effect buffs the target's ATK by 2. However, Berith's main gimmick is that if you have the Sustained Buff effect and don't have a Shield active, it applies a powerful Damage Reduction Shield that lasts the entire turn! What's more, the Damage Reduction increases the less HP you have. This makes Berith quite useful against foes who have multiple attacks per turn as his Shield can greatly reduce the damage you take.
As such, Berith does make for a rather useful 2-in-1 Buff + Shield card.
A useful Sub for Demon Cards, Berith grants a 20-25% Skill Boost and +1 DEF.
But for every +1 DEF, the Minimum and Maximum Skill Boost increases by +2%. At +5 DEF, this becomes a 30-35% Skill Boost instead!
This can be very strong for the handful of Demon Cards that take advantage of Demon Subs.
According to the writings in The Lesser Key of Solomon, Berith is the twenty-eighth spirit listed in the Ars Goetia. He is depicted as a knight or soldier wearing red armor and a golden crown.
