Aries is a pretty standard 3x attacker with a semi-unique gimmick only shared with less than a handful of other Cards (Hanged Man & Diana). If you're inflicted with a Status Effect, then Aries removes that Status Effect and attempts to inflict it to all enemy targets. While it sounds pretty handy, it only has real applications in Colo/DM where you're more likely to get Status Effects and have it actually work. Otherwise, the only real perk is being able to clear your Status Effects when Aries' Skill activates.

Awakening does little to change this other than giving Aries a nice Stat Boost and making him deal more damage if inflicted with a Status Effect.

Sub Skill

Pretty subpar when it first came out and moreso now. Just a simple +1 AGI on Skill Activation if the Main Card is NOT a Girl. Unfortunately, Girl cards are very common, making this Sub less useful than it sounds.

Awakening improves on it quite a lot though! Now you also get a 25-30% Skill Boost as well as +2 AGI on Skill Activation! That said, Aries now makes a great Support Sub to any Non-Girl card in your Deck.

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and is represented by a symbol of a Ram. Hamal is the brightest star in the northern zodiacal constellation of Aries.
