Goddess of Victory
An oddity of a card, Aphrodite is a Healing card acting as a pseudo-buffer of sorts.
She offers a decent single-target heal, as well as increasing ATK and DEF. Of course, the kicker here is that on a Straight+, the ATK/DEF buff spreads to the party and grants a chance to reduce all targets' DEF.
Unfortunately, Aphrodite has some major flaws; the single-target heal will draw the ire of Party members, and the buff effects require a Straight+ to apply to the Party. The ATK debuff only has a 50% chance to activate and is often unreliable. Even more than that, since the buff/debuff are secondary effects, they can't be increased through Enhance cards.
As such, Aprodite has her limits as a Main Card, but fortunately makes a pretty good sub for any Girl card with a Support Skill.
Fortunately, Awakening drastically increases Aphrodite's usefulness, changing her Main Skill into an AoE Heal as well as buffing the Party's ATK & DEF, no longer requring a Straight+. The ATK Debuff is also still there, pretty much the same as before, however.
As such, Aphrodite becomes like the other 2-in-1 Heal/Buff cards that have come since like Torte and Ceres and has become significantly better as a result. Aphrodite's Sub Skill also gets a nice boost, changing to a 15-25% Skill Boost and making her a better sub for any Girl card.
- The Attack debuff chance on straight+ is always 50% with a 1.0 multiplier. The debuff can miss however.
Much like the skill suggests, the heal is single-target, as is the ATK/DEF buff.
But on a Straight+, the ATK/DEF buff spreads to the party as well as granting a chance to debuff all enemies' ATK.
With some Skill Boosts, the ATK/DEF buff can hit +2, as well as increasing the ATK debuff strength.
Unfortunately, Enhance cards won't increase the buff/debuff effects, and since this skill's primary effect isn't AoE, it can't spread stat boosts from Sub Cards. This means Aphrodite ends up falling out of grace when compared to actual Buff cards.
|ATK Debuff Chance||50%|
Aphrodite's Heal now becomes AoE and also increases the Party's ATK/DEF at the same time, making her significantly better than before. The ATK Debuff is still the same as before Awakening. While her heals are a bit on the low side, it also makes her a good candidate for the Yata no Kagami or Loki.
Luckily, Aphrodite has a pretty good Sub Skill, granting a 15% Skill Boost to any Girl-type card.
Since Girl cards are pretty abundant, Aphrodite can be put to good use as a Sub for Support Cards.
Basically the same as before, just the Skill Boost is increased to 15-25%.
Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation.
